Eureka Hotel Geelong
Explorer’s Verdict
A lively inner-city pub with a welcoming atmosphere, great live music and delicious food.
Best for: Inclusive nights out, cocktails
The Eureka Hotel has been holding down this corner of Little Mallop Street since 1912, and it wears the history well — the old brickwork and lettering are still there above a genuinely modern refresh. The rooftop is the big drawcard: open Friday and Saturday from 5pm, free entry, cocktails and DJs till late, and one of the better elevated views in the CBD. Downstairs there’s a dedicated band room for live acts, big screens for AFL, NRL, cricket and basketball, and a solid pub food menu running through the week — think steak night, parmi night, and a Sunday roast. It’s as easy for a casual counter meal as it is for a big night out, which is part of why it’s stayed a Geelong fixture for over a century.
