Best Rooftop Bars in Geelong

Sky-high drinks, waterfront views, and the best seats in the city

Geelong’s rooftop bar scene doesn’t shout about itself – and that’s part of the appeal. From a hidden gem tucked beneath a heritage smokestack to a waterfront perch with Corio Bay stretching out in front of you, the city’s elevated venues have a character that’s distinctly their own. Whether you’re visiting for the weekend or you’ve lived here for years and somehow still haven’t made it up, these are the rooftop bars worth the climb.

Not quite rooftops, but worth a drink

Two more places with a view, for when the rooftops are closed or full. Neither is a rooftop, so we have kept them separate.

Edge Geelong. Directly across from the foreshore at 6-8 Eastern Beach Road, with an undercover deck facing north over Corio Bay and an indoor space for bad weather. Cocktails are the focus, there is live music or a DJ most weekends, and it works well for a drink before an event on the waterfront.

Edge Geelong

The Deck Geelong. A bar on Gheringhap Street with a beer garden and a balcony over the bay, in a building that dates to 1854. It is open from 4pm Monday to Wednesday and from noon Thursday to Sunday, so check before you go.
