It was my first time visiting and I really felt the warm welcome! Had an early check-in because I arrived early in Geelong and my room was already ready. I also appreciated the lovely welcome treats waiting for me in the room. The location is also very serene at night so I was really relaxed during my whole stay. And the staff are all very friendly and accommodating. Definitely coming back. ☺️

We enjoyed our time at Novotel Geelong, although a bit noisy with the works going on. We were given advance notice of this disruption. The staff were very friendly and gave us assistance/advice when needed. The food was excellent & we really enjoyed the Steak night. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. Will certainly revisit this accommodation in the future.

We enjoyed our 3 night stay, which was a half way point to everything we wanted to see and do vacation wise. Room was nice but we couldn't sleep in because of the jackhammer and construction which started every morning dead on 8am. Apart from this inconvenience it was a nice stay.

Breakfast staff need to trained in customer service. To tell our group of 40 plus people to be out of the dining area by 8.30 am when our check out time was 11 am is disappointing. Why? Because it was Father’s Day. We were there for two nights plus we had a private 3 course dinner on the Saturday night at Novotel. A lot of money was spent in those two days by our group. We deserved to have been treated better at Breakfast today.

The check in was easy and the staff member was polite, and explained the self-parking that was available. The room was clean and fresh and had everything we needed. However, at 8am on the dot on both days that we were there, the heavy drilling began and did not stop. I received a message to say the works are ongoing and intermittent noise could be expected between 8am and 4pm. The noise was really terrible, think jack hammer from 8am sharp - we couldn’t relax in bed in the morning, couldn’t hear the TV over it, so we gave up and left the room early to get away from it. Had we known about this, we would not have booked the hotel. I am absolutely astonished that the rooms are not discounted in any way, given the levels of disruption. I’ve spent a lot of money for a room we couldn’t be in. Sorry - I’m incredibly disappointed with this experience of Novotel and the staff are not even acknowledging it. When I mentioned it at check out, the staff member didn’t say a thing. My recommendation is to book somewhere else until these works are finished, at which point it will be worth the money we spent.
